Tread Patterns: The Foundation of Control
● Grappler: The culmination of e*thirteen's iterative design process, the Grappler is an aggressive, open-knob tread utilizing a 3-2-3 lug pattern in the centre and aggressive side knobs. It differs from "other brands" with more substantial centre lugs, providing a larger and more effective contact patch on hard surfaces, enhanced braking power, and reduced knob flex. This results in a confident grip on loose surfaces and slippery slabs. Available in Flux AM, GR, and Radial casings.

● Grappler RS: This rear-optimized tread evolved from the All-Terrain tread, featuring taller centre knobs with a steeper ramp angle for better braking power. It is built for respectable rolling speed and excellent braking and cornering bite in gravity disciplines with Flux GR and Radial casings.

● Grappler TR: Sharing a similar layout to the RS, the Grappler TR has a lower-profile centre tread for reduced rolling resistance and lighter weight, making it ideal for Aggressive Trail and All-Mountain use in Flux AM casing.

Advantages of Flux GR Radial Casing for MTB
1. Cornering stability: Increased shoulder knob engagement throughout lean angles results in a more predictable and planted feel, especially at high speeds on loose or off-camber surfaces.

2. Bump compliance: Better conformity to terrain micro-variations (small roots, rocks, braking bumps), allowing the suspension to work more efficiently, and reducing rider fatigue.

3. Lower rolling resistance: Less internal friction within the casing under flex cycles feels slightly "faster" for Enduro and DH racing.

4. High-speed straight-line stability: Tyres track very predictably under heavy braking or straight-line compressions.

5. Improved Rim Protection: The increased tyre pressures required with radial casing tires help to protect rims from impacts, resulting in fewer dents and broken rims.

6. Less Punctures: Increased pressure results in fewer snake bite punctures, and added compliance allows tyres to conform around rocks instead of being cut.

7. Supportive Sidewalls: Dual Apex inserts in the sidewalls of Flux GR Radial casings provide added protection and help to stabilize the sidewall, minimizing the excessive lateral flex under load associated with competitor radial tyres.
